Week 19: The Benefits Of Oolong Tea…

I’m sure many of you have heard about the great benefits that drinking green tea has. But a hidden treasure that many may not know about is oolong tea. Oolong tea is sort of the midpoint between green and black tea because it is made from the same leaves as both, the difference is the fermentation process, oolong tea is partially fermented, black tea is fully fermented while green tea is unfermented. Oolong tea has many health and vanity benefits such as boosting your metabolism as well as aiding in digestion causing weight loss, lowers cholesterol, Increases mental alertness, Promotes healthy hair and skin, Stabilizes blood sugar, and strengthens the immune system. Although oolong tea has these great benefits it is important to consume it in moderation because it does contain caffeine. Also be mindful that when drinking oolong tea especially for the benefit of weight loss to not load it with refined sugars or artificial sweeteners. To sweeten I recommend using raw honey, maple syrup, or agave syrup. These sweeteners are low on the glycemic index so they don’t cause your blood sugar to spike.
