Martini Madness At Bar Louie In Chicago…
Written by: Je’ Wesley DayThe skyscrapers are beautiful in my hometown of Chicago, but the drinks are even more amazing at Bar Louie in the Printers Row area of downtown on Polk Street. This place is a local’s favorite, one of the best happy hour locations in the city and, in my opinion, around the nation. It’s worth a visit for 1/2 off appetizers from 4pm to 7pm and 1/2 off martinis all night.
Select from an array of martini cocktails to satisfy every palate with sixteen selections on the menu and with off menu options such as “Martini Ruby”. The Ruby Martini is a limited edition item that’s not listed on the menu, but can always be requested. It’s a watermelon flavor, based with vodka, fused with sour mix, and garnished with resting cucumbers. It is infused perfectly to make a great balance of alcohol with a cool refreshing crisp flavor.
Wait, you must save room for dessert with a Smores Martini. It’s Godiva chocolate liqueur, toasted marshmallows, chocolate syrup and a graham cracker rim was the best chocolate infused cocktail that I’ve had in my adult life. It’s important to note that this cocktail did not skimp on the alcohol; it was topped off with the proper blend of liquor to not be overwhelmed by the sweet taste of chocolate.
Partaking in their martinis is like partaking in a 7-course meal. There’s something for everyone.
